By paying your Lovman Inc. moving services deposit you agree to be bound by Lovman Inc.’s Terms & Conditions. It is your responsibility to check and be aware of all Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms & Conditions.

1. Cost of Service & Payment Terms

Deposit

Lovman Inc. requires a $50 dollar deposit to reserve your move day. For flat rate fee quotes greater than $3,000, Lovman Inc. requires a deposit of 10% of your total move fee quote.

Your deposit is due within 2 days of receipt for your flat rate fee quote to lock in your move date and rate.

Please pay all deposits electronically either via our secure payment link or over the phone by credit card.

The total quoted cost of services includes blankets and tape for furniture protection, dollies for the duration of the move, fuel, mileage & tolls charges.

Outstanding balance payment

The remaining balance of your invoice is due 1 business day prior to your move date. Lovman Inc. will not begin your move until we receive the remaining balance on your invoice.

We accept cash, bank check and all major credit and debit cards.

If you have opted to pay by cash or check on the day of your move, please notify Lovman Inc. in writing during the booking process. We will not begin to load the truck on move day until we receive your cash or check payment.

Cancellations and Moving Date Changes

Non-peak move cancellation or rescheduling: Lovman Inc. requires written notice of cancellation or rescheduling a minimum of 1 business day or 24 hours prior to your confirmed move date to obtain a full refund of your deposit and to avoid penalties.

Peak period move cancellation or rescheduling: All moving services scheduled between the 25th to the 31st of any month, and the 1st to the 2nd of any month are subject to a penalty of 100% of the total move estimate if notice of cancellation or rescheduling is not provided within 3 business days or 72 hours of your confirmed move date.

The cost of Lovman Inc. moving services are subject to change if the customer changes the date or time of reservation.

Added Charges

On move day, we allow UP TO a +/- 5% discrepancy in the original inventory list. In the case of an inventory overage, Lovman Inc. will prepare a supplemental invoice to cover the overage for your review and approval.

We’re sorry, but we cannot move any extra items until the customer pays the supplemental invoice in full. Please make payment of the supplemental invoice over the phone via credit card or in person via cash or bank check before your move begins.

If there is no parking within 150 feet of the entrance of either the pickup or drop off locations, Lovman Inc, with notice to the customer, may impose an excessive carrying and pushing fee, not to exceed $300.

Lovman Inc. may impose a waiting time charge due to delays caused either by the customer or building management.

Payment of parking tickets are the responsibility of Lovman Inc.

Your guaranteed flat rate fee includes fuel and mileage as calculated for the original pick-up and delivery locations. Supplemental mileage fees may apply if the customer makes changes to the original pick-up or delivery locations.

Hourly Labor Fees

Hourly moving services only apply to local moves at the discretion of Lovman Inc. Flat rate moving services are the default billing and moving service of Lovman Inc.

The customer must specify the amount of time they will need our moving professionals when booking hourly moving services. If the hourly moving service exceeds the customer’s requested hourly timeframe, Lovman Inc. will not be liable for an incorrect timing estimate.

Hourly moving charges begin when Lovman Inc. moving professionals arrive at the pick-up location, engage with the customer, and begin work.

If Lovman Inc. needs extra time to complete the hourly move, we will bill the customer for the extra time in either 30 minute or one-hour increments under the terms of the moving agreement. Please pay your extra hourly moving fees before Lovman Inc. completes the move and the customer signs the Bill of Lading.

Our moving professionals will aim to complete services in an efficient and safe manner. If the customer requests or needs extra time to complete their move beyond the original quoted timeframe, the customer will be liable for the cost of the added hours.

2. Customer Responsibilities and Expectations

The customer or his/her legal representative with power of attorney in hand MUST be on-site during the move. If not, the customer MUST ACKNOWLEDGE in writing prior to the move that Lovman Inc. will NOT be responsible for any claims for forgotten, misplaced, damaged or lost items or any such claims from building management.

The customer must empty all furniture prior to the move. This includes dressers, drawers, refrigerators, and freezers. If a customer has selected packing services, the contents of the customer’s refrigerator and freezer and other perishable items must be safely packed by the customer. Lovman Inc. will not be responsible for any sickness, damage, or death due to food poisoning from improperly packed perishables.

Customers must unplug/plug-in all electronics.

Customers who pack their own belongings must do so in durable boxes and with the correct packing materials.

Lovman Inc. will not move pets and live animals.

Lovman Inc. will only move EMPTY aquariums and EMPTY animal cages.

We will move small to medium sized live houseplants. The customer must accurately describe each plant size and weight during booking.

Lovman Inc. will move your EMPTY waterbed. We are not waterbed experts, so if you prefer to have a waterbed company move and set up your bed, please make those arrangements separately.

We will carefully move all breakables that you pack yourself, but we will not be liable for any breakage and/or resulting damage to the items you have packed yourself. If you wish to have fragile items packed by Lovman Inc. to allow for potential insurance coverage, we will charge for packing and materials. If you decline extra packing materials, we will move the items, but we will ask you to sign a waiver.

Lovman Inc. will move pianos, appliances, and other items in excess 300 pounds if we can safely move these items on move day.

Lovman Inc. movers will test all TVs both before and after the move. The customer must acknowledge that each TV works or does not work at each location.

The customer must sign a “Bill of Lading” upon both pick up and delivery.

3. Insurance and Valuation Coverage for Customer Belongings

Lovman Inc. will cover your belongings with free BASIC insurance at the rate of $0.60 cents per pound per item as required by the Department of Transportation, New York.

If you plan to move high value items, we suggest the purchase of your own supplemental 3rd party insurance to cover possible unintentional damage to high value items.

Wooden packing crates are available upon request.

Lovman Inc. is not liable for any insurance claims filed by the customer for already broken or damaged items. We reserve the right to photograph and record all damaged and broken items on your Bill of Lading at the pick-up and delivery locations. The customer must acknowledge in writing in the Bill of Lading that these items were already damaged and broken prior to the move. If the customer refuses to sign the Bill of Lading, Lovman Inc. will not continue with the move and the customer will receive a refund.

4. Building Insurance – COI (Certificate of Liability Insurance)

Lovman Inc. will give customers who have booked a move and paid for their service in full a Certificate of Insurance COI if required by building management.

It is the customer’s responsibility to notify Lovman Inc. if building management requires a COI. The customer must obtain the requirements from building management and send them to us via email prior to the move date.

Lovman Inc. reserves the right either to refuse to move the customer or to charge an additional fee if our movers arrive at the pick up or drop off location and the customer did not provide COI information prior to the move day.

Please note that we do not include floor and wall protection in our standard flat rate moving service fee. If a customer or building management requires wall and floor padding/protection, it is the responsibility of the customer to communicate this information at the time of booking or within 48 hours of their move day to ensure that the necessary materials are available. Supplemental material and handling fees apply.

5. Claim and Refunds

If you have a customer claim related to a recent move, please contact Lovman Inc. at (646) 600-1103.

Customers have 90 days from the date of move/delivery to file a claim. If you do not file a claim within 90 days from your move date Lovman Inc. will not process your claim.

All claims must be in writing and sent to Lovman Inc. We have 30 days to acknowledge receipt of your claim and 120 days to provide you with a disposition. If we cannot resolve your claim within 120 days, we are entitled to a 60-day extension.

Lovman Inc. pledges to resolve any complete claim as soon as possible. We will present you with a fair and considered settlement offer. If you accept the offer, we will compensate you accordingly. If you do not accept our offer, we may work with an independent arbitrator.

Claims for Pick-Up Time Lateness: If Lovman Inc. is late for pick-up on move day, we will compensate the customer with a refund of 5% of their total service fee for every hour late. If we are more than 3 hours late for pick-up, we will cap your refund at 15%. A claim for late fee compensation is only payable to customers who make their day of move lateness compensation claim via our claim for. You must make your claim on the day of the move or 1 day after the move date in to receive refund consideration.

6. Safety of Moving Crews and Customers

We train our Lovman Inc. moving professionals in job safety, packing and unpacking, proper lifting techniques, securing items, safe driving, and customer service.

We cover our moving professionals with third party workman’s compensation insurance under New York State Law.

We are your movers. We ask that customers DO NOT move or carry any items during their move. If a customer moves or carries an item during the move, they do so at their own risk. Lovman Inc. is not liable for any self-inflicted customer injuries, claims or damages.

Customers must treat our moving professionals with respect. Lovman Inc. reserves the right to stop a move if a customer harasses or disrespects our movers.

7. Contactless Moving Services

“Contactless moving” means there that neither the customer nor his/her representative is on site during the entire move. To secure “contactless moving”, the customer or his/her representative must sign a liability waiver at the time of booking.

The “contactless moving” customer must be available online for the entire move day until Lovman Inc. completes the move to answer questions or address issues that may arise during the move.

The customer must electronically sign their Bill of Lading to acknowledge the loading and completion of their move.

8. Packing and Unpacking

All moving materials including moving blankets, TV boxes, wardrobe boxes, picture boxes and any other moving materials, except materials customer purchases in advance, are the property of Lovman Inc. We will retrieve these items at your drop-off location prior to departure.

Customers, please properly pack all breakable and fragile items before the move begins. These items include glass of any kind, lamps and lampshades, pictures, mirrors, marble, granite, stone, pottery, waterbed mattresses TVs and other electronics and artwork of any kind. The customer accepts responsibility for any item that we load onto our trucks without proper packing as recommended by Lovman Inc.

Lovman Inc. will fully pack and unpack your belongings upon request (made at the time of booking) for an extra fee. We include boxes, packing paper and other packing supplies in your packing fee. We will only supply bubble wrap upon special request from the customer.

It is the responsibility of the customer to organize their belongings before Lovman Inc. begins packing. We will not organize the items during packing unless requested by the customer at the time of booking. We will organize packed items by room and type. We will not separate the content of drawers during the packing process. Lovman Inc. will pack your belongings safely and efficiently.

Lovman Inc. is not responsible for extra packing boxes beyond those budgeted for at the time of booking.

Upon request, we will safely and efficiently unpack all boxes and dispose of the cardboard boxes and packing materials. The customer must place all unpacked items, including china and other fragile items, in their desired location.

9. TVs and Electronics

The customer must turn on all TVs prior to packing. Customers must acknowledge in their signed Bill of Lading that their TVs are functional. If the TVs do not work at the pick-up location Lovman Inc. is not responsible for any damages or claims.

Lovman Inc. is not responsible for claims or damages if a TV does work at the pick-up location and does not work at the drop off location and there is no visible external damage

We are not responsible for damage to a TV if packed by the customer in their own box prior to the arrival of our moving professionals.

We will unmount a TV free of charge if agreed to at the time of booking.

We will mount the TV on the wall at the drop-off location if agreed to at the time of booking for a fee.

For TV mounting and any other wall installations the customer must give a minimum of 24 hours notice to ensure that our moving professionals have the correct tools.

Lovman Inc. is not liable for the internal components of any appliance or electronic device.

We are not responsible for disconnecting the electricity for appliances. We are not responsible for the disassembly/assembly of any appliances that cannot fit through the door unless previously agreed to at the time of booking.

10. Furniture Assembly & Disassembly

Lovman Inc. performs a variety of furniture handling services. Some items, such as large wall units, may require special handling. Customers must inform Lovman Inc. that they have items for special handling a minimum of 3 business day prior to the move. Supplemental fees will apply. We reserve the right to refuse to move large, complex items on the day of a move if the customer did not account for at the time of booking.

The customer must supply Lovman Inc. with furniture assembly manuals for any complex or large items. Lovman Inc. will not disassemble or assemble items that require manufacturer assembly and disassembly.

Armoires, china cabinets, pool tables, pianos, exercise machines and other oversized/fragile items that we cannot move in one piece may be subject to supplemental handling fees. Lovman Inc. will not assemble furniture or any item that we did not disassemble. We are not liable for any damages or claims for damage to items disassembled and packed by the customer.

11. Furniture & Mattress Disposal

Lovman Inc. will dispose of unwanted furniture at the request of the client for an additional fee (to cover additional mileage, labor, additional stops and disposal center charges) if the request is made at the time of the booking.

Lovman Inc. will only dispose of a customer’s items on the curb if previously requested by the customer at the time of booking, following local curbside disposal regulations as confirmed by the customer. We are not responsible for any fines or penalties imposed for illegal curbside disposal. There are no exceptions to this rule.

12. Customer Privacy

Lovman Inc. takes your privacy seriously.

Lovman Inc. may collect personal information via phone, email, web form or third party lead provider, such as your email address, name, home or work address, telephone number, bank account information and credit/visa card details. We use this information for billing and the provision of purchased or related services. We do not collect any information about your computer hardware and software.

Lovman Inc. may access and/or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal processes served on Lovman Inc. or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Lovman Inc, including its website; or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Lovman Inc. or the public.

We are committed to protecting your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies to help guard against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We do not collect, use, or show sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

13. COVID-19

Lovman Inc. is an “Essential Business” Under the 2020 COVID 19 New York State Executive Order. We regularly sanitize our vehicles and equipment. Our moving professionals must wear face masks & gloves and regularly wash/sanitize their hands during every customer move. Our moving professionals will not report to work if they are sick. They will not return to work until a licensed medical professional provides clearance.

Lovman Inc. will not be held liable for any damages if a customer or member of the community contract COVID-19. If you book a move during the COVID-19 under New York State Executive Order “Essential Business”, it is at your own risk. We will not be held liable for any damages, sickness, or death for a customer.
